Default 2 stroke info-mercial

I was flipping throught the channels the other day when I came across an infomercial talking about an Evinrude E-Tech 2 stroke boat motor that got better fuel milage and ran with less polution that a 4 stroke motor. and of course had more power than the 4 stoke motor with the same cc's. Oh yea, the motor was also fuel injected. why cant they do the same with 2 stroke motorcycle and atv motors? Or could we be seeing this in the future.
has anyone else seen this comercial?
maybe this is what honda is working on.
could you amagine a new up dated trx250r?

It would be great if all the manufactures came up with a type of 2 stroke that complied with all the regulations because there will never be another type of moter like the 2 stroke, no matter how advanced 4 stroke tech goes, but of course they will let 2 strokes go because it cost too much money or will take too much time to do it, that is why we have to keep the remaining 2 strokes alive as long as posible.

I heard rumors that 2-stroke atv production will end within 1-2 years.

Im having a hard time believing that there will be no more 2 strokes after 1-2 years.
Evinrude E-Tech motors are in full production. I believe that motorcycle manufactures are looking into this technology. everything has its phases and right now we are just in the 4 stroke phase so lets just wait and see. Im confident (well, hoping) that 2 strokes will be back.

Dont you guys remember all the hype back in the early 90's about Hondas fuel injected 2 stroke bike . I think it even had variable porting too. Nothing ever became of it and Honda focused on 4 strokes instead. To bad.

Back when, Honda had a 2-stroke bike that was suposed to have less emissions. They even raced it in Baja. Might be the same bike Wisetech is talking about??? Never heard of it since.

I see the new 450's as kind of the in between machines. They give you 2-strokish motors, with green sticker 4-stroke emissions.

I really wish they would play that info-mercial again. that is exactly what they were talking about when they were explaining the emissions. it showed the 4 stroke running at idle with 680 emissiion ( lets call them points) and it showed the 2 stroke at idle as well at 80 points. thats a huge difference. it was the same type of difference when the were running at full throttle. hell, if thats not green sticker material I dont know what is.

Keep in mind too, that a marine engine is "very water cooled", compared to our radiator and air cooled bikes.

YES, Evinrude took honda's idea that was used on the proto EXP 2 stroke and applied high pressure direct fuel injection (common on new diesels) to it! Result is one clean powerful 2 stroke. Let me search for links to the sweet honda that never made it.
