FOREMANS FLOAT!
#1
Today I found out something new about my Foreman. Foremans float! We were trail riding and found a road that went to an old busted up concrete boat landing that ran into Jocassee Lake here in South Carolina. I know I have seen a many a four wheeler in these post up to the fuel tanks in water and swamps and you guys just riding right along. I decided to back into the water till up to the exhaust just for the fun of it. When the pipe went under water I knew to keep it running. I hit the brakes and kept the engine going , but for some reason it kept moving backwards and getting deeper and deeper. I put it in four wheel drive and it still didnt want to move. I finally realized I was floating!!! dddaaaahhhhhh!! Talk about panic, after rocking it a little it finally starting touching bottom and came on out! I had always wondered how you kept the front end in the air while riding swamps in the pictures I have seen . Now I know..They FLOAT!!!!

yes and as a general rule, it seems the bigger your tires the better it floats, due to more air on water contact patch... be carefull floating the bike, because they flip easy, and then are float alright but the wrong way.

It would have been funny if you floated out in the lake and a boat stopped to see what was wrong. After talking for about 2 seconds he then realized you were floating around in the deep blue "sea" on a fourwheeler!!!

Seriously, I was floating right along, and the right front hit a high spot of ground, and just rolled right over. Those things are real tippy when there floating. A few beers makes them even more tippy.
