Default 05 V2 650 Overheating Dealer Fix???

The fan would not kick in so after 2 tries dealer still could get it in kick under 240f. So they installed a toggle switch(on/off). They replace everything (so they say). I just can’t buy it, any thoughts?

The fan switch is what turns on the fan and is the only temp controlled part in the system. There is a test for them also.

Sorry Bear I don’t understand your reply. The dealer did go through all the tests and then replace everything having to do with the fan actuating. I’m sure that as long as the fan is running (manually turned on) it will stay within the proper temp range. I just think for a new $8,000.00 unit shouldn't require a “work around”. Weak engineering

The opertaion of the fan is a simple concept. 12VDC "hot" wire is ran via a themostat temp switch in the bottom of the radiator (left side), once the temp gets above 150 F the switch closes and the fan gets feed the 12VDC and turns on. The black "neg" ground wire has a direct feed into the fan. So all the fan is waiting for to operate is the 12VDC "Hot" coming in from the themostat switch once it electrically closes...can't believe they direct wired it to a toggle. Hope they installed a temp gauge so you'll know when to turn it on :-)

Three strikes this dealer is out. They can even hot wire the fan. I didn’t even get 5 miles from the house. I will be talking to AC 1st in the am

Thanks for the input

The fan runs on 12 volts. A ground wire is run from the negative terminal of the battery via the frame ground. The 12 volts to turn the fan on is supplied thru the temp switch which is mount so it is in the coolant. Once the coolant reachs hot temp the switch is activated. If the fan runs with the toggle switch, then the fan is ok and then the switch is bad. If the fan does not run with the switch the the fan is bad or or the ground is bad. The system is stupid simple and if they replaced the fan and the switch it has to be wiring. If the only replaced the switch then he fan is bad.

Theshonk, Sorry to hear Beaudry's hasn't fixed your machine correctly yet. Damn that has to suck. Wish you the best. Good luck!
