Anyone ever tap out the oil case to next size?

Default Anyone ever tap out the oil case to next size?

I let my buddy help me service my bike but he forgot lefty loosy and righty tighty![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img]: so now my oil leaks anyone tried tapping out the oil pan before if so what size did you go to and where did you get the oil drain plug? thanks in advance

been there done that. i tapped it out to a standard size. i cant remember the thread count but you want to definately take your time. only go up a size just a bit bigger than what the metric size was. and make sure the bolt you use for the new size has a rubber gasket. either go to home depot and get a o-ring or gasket that fits around the base of the bolt head to help secure any possible leaks. mine has worked just fine. whatever you do dont use a helicoil. your just asking for more problems. just my 2c. good luck
