Default Considering the H1...

I finally killed my 500 sportsman and I am now in the market for a new ride. Was walking through a local rec show last Friday and came across an H1. What a beautifull bike! If it wasn't for those Arctic Cat stickers I would have bought it immediately. The only thing holding me back is the fact that I will take sooooooooo much crap for riding a Cat. This comes from giving so much in the winter while towing all the cats in. Anyways, I figure I can steam the stickers off and disguise it. Kind of worried about the whole first year thing, but I have read of all the extensive testing they have been doing with it...

I was just wondering if anyone had ridden one of these bad boys yet. If so, please share any opinions on it.

The Shonk is known for his sarchasm and incessant whining, don't pay any attention to it.

AC has been developing the H1 for 3 years. The bugs are worked out of it. It'll be SOLID.

Good Luck!

Bothnuts,

Better than 3 years more like 4 of R&D if you count the last year of lost production.
No guts No glory cancel the 500 and pick-up the H1.Since no one we know has seen it run perhaps it’s walking or crawling
Maybe if you served some cheese with my whine I would be less persistent

Good Day!

Shonk

Ps My Mom is from Ky I not only like Ky I love it (My Dad was from Ohio so I’m only half hillbilly)

No, I didn't see it running. It was inside at a rec show. I might head down that way tomorrow and check it out some more. If they still have it...

It's killing me not being able to ride with all the fresh mud around calling my name. We just lost our snow last week, so there's plenty of mud.

There are a couple of reveiws on other forums of the H1, some dealers go ttheir first ones this weekend.
So far no reveiws that amount to much info on them. One dealer said it does not have a hit anywhere near the v-twin...in fact he said to do a wheelie he had to get his feet on the back rack...? Don't know if it's true... I mean it's on the internet... it's going to get reveiwed in the next week or so from guys trying them out, so I bet we know more in a a week to 10 days.
Sounds like it is identical as far as frame and suspention, so the ride will be the same as the 650 twin, just not as peppy? But with the reworked duramatic, the low range will be much lower then the twin. If any o fyou are out ...give us a reveiw, I'd do it, but all the AC dealers are a 100 mile round trip to get too! This is one I would wait on...at least a bit...

The H1 is the exact same thing as the V2 except for the engine. 13" of ground clearance, 10" of suspension travel all the way around, front locker, and super tough. From my experience Polaris riders take to the newer AC's quite easily. They'll be forced to when they see your bike spanking theirs....he he. The H1 is supposed to be more powerful on the low end and mid range. I hope that rings true.

I went down to check it out today, and he still had 1 sitting on the showroom floor. However, he said all of them had been sold, and he wasn't expecting any more till FALL!!! It was 35 degrees and raining, so I didn't do any test rides...

I have now narrowed down my search to the V2 and the Suzuki KQ. Anyone have experience with both? Any pros/cons of the 2 would be appreciated. I like the KQ, but how is it in the mud? I know the V2 will go through just about anything when properly ridden/equipped.

As far as prices I was quoted ~$6800 for the V2 and ~$6500 for the KQ. The H1 was sold for $7600!!! I thought it was supposed to be cheaper than the V2. The brochure he gave me even says the H1 is for the "value minded"...
