Default Help me spend my money. '04 500 TBX performance

Hi all,

First time post. Just purchased a leftover 04 500 TBX auto. Took it out in the mud and am all ready to upgrade. What I am looking for is a moderate performance hp upgrade kit (pipes, needles, airbox, etc...) and larger mud tires (thinking about the 27" range).

Some of the concerns / wants :

Looking for a performance kit that will give a moderate boost in HP. Nothing too crazy but leaning a little on the higher end. I still would like to keep the economy respectable.

As for the tire wheel combo, I would like something with the least amount of sidewall flex in the 27" range. What is the largest I can fit without lifting?

Would like to keep the machine for use around the house as well as playing in the mud.

Any thoughts / comments / suggestions / links would be greatly appreciated. I am a little new to this so if I need to answer any questions.......

Thanks in advance,
Chris

yamahalltheway,

Thanks for the tips. You would be proud to know I strayed away from team blue on this one. Other ride is a WR426.

I will definitely look at the 589s. I was seeing a lot of positive comments on them.

On the performance mods..... does anyone know of any complete kits that people have put together, with dyno results to go with them?

yamahalltheway,

Do you mean 28" tires will fit with no other mods?
