I'm not big on buying used quads, but my bud has a Sportsman 500 HO for sale. It's a '98, green, w/ a 2000# warn winch and ox-lite cv guards. The carb is gunked up from sitting, but it's got a brand new battery sitting in it. Oh, and it's only got 331 miles on it. What's it worth. I'm very mechanical, so the carb is no biggie (other than getting to it!). Thanks.

Hi,

If the 500 Sportsman is a 1998, it is not an HO. That's not a big deal becasue I have a 1997 500 Xplorer (Same as sportsman only it doesn't have the Speedometer pod on the handle bars) and it goes like a raped ape.

If everything works and it in nice shape, I would think between $2800 and 3300.

Good luck,

Mike

Thanks. You can tell I'm not a Polaris guy. Don't hate 'em, just not "into" 'em either. He's in the ball park on what he's asking. $2500 if he has the carb done, 2200 if taken as is. A friend of mine is in the market and I thought this one might be a good starter quad. We're still shopping around. Thanks again.
