On my 01 DS after making some of the recomended changes ( K&N filter, ODP power tip, cutting carb spring and drilling vacuume holes) I find that the DS runs best with the idle jet adjuster out at 4 turns. Should I go to a larger idle jet and turn the adjuster out less? What are the avantages/disadvantages of this kind of change. I noticed in the manual that there were two diffrent size jets 32.5 and a 45.0 what is the reason for this? Thanks for any help

 

Do not get confused with the starter jet. It comes from factory as a 45.
I have seen 40, 42.5 and 45 pilot jets. Never a 32.5
Most ds's with mods to exhaust run the 45. If when you down shift at a high rpm the exhaust backfires lightly, you may need to run a 45. 4 turns out is a standard.
I run a 50 in one of my ds's because I have advanced the timing.
