Default 700twin's- Are they junk?

Hello everyone, Just wondering if anyone out there has had any problems with their new 700twins. My cousin was told by a service guy that even though he thinks that Polaris make a real good machine, then 700twin's are problems. I guess he had 2 come in with the motors bad and the rear ends out of them. So I was just curious if anyone has any major problems with them or the make in general.

None of the Polaris machines are junk anymore. They are very solid machines and have come along way since the early 90's. I have nover heard of them having bad motors or torn up rears. In the beginning they had problems with the waterpumps leaking but that has been fixed. Other then that they are solid.

I've got over 600 miles and not a problem on my '05 700 EFI......

the only problems were a pinched cable on '04 machines...not other problems to note....if they came in with two blown motors, then someone could have had an oil leak or changed their oil and forgot to put new oil in...lol

truly, all manufacturers run in to problems....just haven't seen much problems in the polaris for the last 5 years...

I had one problem with my 700 I had. Everytime I hit the gas too hard, it would spit dirt and gravel on my wife when she was behind me. Other then that, it seemed about bulletproof.

Only thing on my 2003 was to have the carb upgrade done and a loose carb mount. Elkbow how is the KLR650 doing?
