I raced a BF 750 with my 800 today.....

Well it wasn't a kill, but at least some of you will know where you stand with a STOCK 800 and a STOCK bf 750
Out of the gate we were dead even. Both of us sat on the gas tanks to keep the front from coming up....This was a must. I knew the BF has huge torque, but the few more cc's the 800 has did well. In the mid range he pulls out from me a little. But on the top end LOOK out BF. I stopped his pull and started catching up to pass him. I got next to him so he could see me and then let off. He topped out at 67 mph. I have no idea where I was. That was the fastest I have gone on the bike and I wasn't looking down for nothing.
I should be getting my Dalton Blue spring in the mail any day. I am curious how I will do with just that spring against him......
Then maybe add a K&N.
I will be doing some testing against my brothers 700 EFI. He will be adding some aftermarket parts and well race my bike against his to see if the parts do anything. We are also going to time the runs the best we can from point A to B etc. We all want to know if the power comander does anything. So we will find out. Also exhaust, and a clutch kit. I'll keep my 800 stock for these tests......I think it may be interesting.

Did he have any of the extras that you have on, like winch and bumpers? All these big bores are close and none will blow the others away, but considering the weight difference it just shows the 800 has got some power. The blue spring you should like. I don't know if you feel a flat spot around 35-40, I know I did, but the blue spring got rid of that. So thus got up to speed faster. So your next race , you should do better.

Well the BF kinda has a tube bumper on from the factory. So it is already accounted for on the scale. He does have the same winch as I do so that is a wash. He did pull his front rack off. It was a little bent. It might weigh 10lbs if that. But my front bumper does add weight. However he has the skid for a plow on his bike and That skid is probably the same weight as the push bar I have. So I think all in all it is a wash. I'm not sure how much more the 800 weighs in over the BF. But if it is around 30 lbs. We may have had that taken account of also. I weigh in at 180 and the BF driver is around 200-210 easily.
Kind of a close comparison. I bet if he put on a set of 26" he would take me on the high end also.....
I like the low end that machine has. Hopefully a few mods will get me somewhere near it on the bottom end. Don't get me wrong this 800 has some low end, but it seems like it is lagging from a roll. Maybe the upshift isn't as fast as the stock BF. It could be his bike looks so powerful because of the 25" tires and the fact that they look like they came off of a 80's big red. They are trash..
