my cat is a 2004 and shortly after i got it i noticed gas coming out the over flow tube ,deler fix it ,to make a long storey short on the third time back to the deler he replased the carbs. but today more gas is runing out the tube .i did however get it to stop by slaming it down kinda hard. so what is the right fix ? and dont tell me to ride slower its just not going to happen.

i agreay it has to be the needle &seat but why dose it stick and no it is not bad gas it only happens after a fast rough ride or after a jumb even a wheele will make it to start or stop flowing.iwant to think that the flot hight is not set right .do i raise or lower and how much ?

Does is ever stop leaking over a period of time sitting?
Have you tapped the carb to make it quit leaking?
bouncing the quad from coming off a wheele changes the leakage - indicates a stuck float or possibly something under the float. or the float limits are off.
That would explain your loss of power also - fuel starvation from the float not moving enough.
(Had that happen in an airplane once - turned out to be a rolled up ball of foil from a Marboros hard pack - made that airplane ride interesting)

Fast, rough ride = strirring the trash on the bottom of the tank up and it runs down into the carb. Install an inline fuel filter and I bet the problem goes away, best to pull the tank and flush and clean it out real good. Dirty gas and no filter are the two biggest problems seen anymore. The refineries do a poor job, the distributor won't clean his tanks (cost money) and the stations just pass the dirt along. Then the public gets to deal with it. Install a filter and have the tank check real close. The carbs still need cleaning but if you don't filter it you will just have to do it again.
