Go with stock parts but if you want to hop it up a little put in a white polaris primary spring(400 Scrambler spring) use stock weights and if you want to mod the secondary I am partial to the Aaen blue secondary set at 2-2. That is what I ran in my old 425 and it worked great.

I wouldnt fool with the springs and such, since its an older bike it has the old style clutch cover look and make sure that it is not rubbing in the clutchs couse most on the time they rub at idle but slightly above idle they wont

When you get the cover off you can tell if the clutch has been hiting it.

You will need a clutch puller to get the primary clutch off.You can buy one for around $25 and it is a must for any Polaris work.
