nooooooooope, only one thing, the 05 has the predator rear foot break...personally IMO its not that big of a deal because i never use the foot break (but thats prolly cuz it hasnt worked since we brough the 04 home lol) but as far as i know thats the only advantage the new 05's have other then that there's no difference....

Thats funny because me and 2 of my friends have scramblers, and none of our rear breaks work either lol I fixed it once(cleared, bled, ect..) and it lasted one day and the next time I rode it is didn't work? Saw 2 at the cliffs(04's) and both of there foot breaks never worked too.

Atleast they seem to be consistant lol

I just had to have the engine replaced in my 05. The mechanic said he was taking the carb off my bad engine because it is larger than the new carbs that are now coming out. So I'm guessing the 04s and early 05s are the same, but you may want to be careful if you're buying one that was just produced.

Yes they have been the same for a long time. On the foot brake I pretty sure polaris says it supposed to act like an emergency brake or somthing like that but if you are interested in having fully independent front to rear brake set-up Hot Seat offers a split brake kit for most polaris models it copmes complete with installation instructions it retails for 209.00. You cna check it out on our web site or call 651-982-0600 or e-mail us @ tech@hotseatperformance.com.

New ones do have the mechanical fuel gauge cap. Maybe 04's had it too i dunno, I bought it for my 02 500 4x4, it was like $16. Btw, my foot brake works fine, everything works perfectly. My g/f's rear brake didn't at all, from day one supposedly. We bled it real good and it's worked fine ever since, been about 2 months. Its a 02 325 Trailboss.
