Hi All.

I'm a real rookie with ATV's. And I do own a 2001 Kodiak...and a beater 1984 Honda TRX200. Looking to replace the honda cuz the front shocks are froze up and can't find replacements....it also fouls plugs like a demon, even after dealer service and carb rebuild. (supposedly)

Questions:

2000 BearTracker....Have a chance to Purchase. CLean body and paint but the tires are shot.
1. Do tires / rims from a 2000 Kodiak fit? (a bud has a complete set of take offs I can get cheap)

We just need a second set of wheels for puttin around on our land....
2. Is this a reliable machine? Somewhat fun to drive?

The Bear Tracker is a good machine. 250 class 2x4 is very nimble and pretty tough machine. You should have some good times on it. The machine should be very relaible unless it was put through hell with the first owner and not maintained. As for putting the Kodiak wheels and tires on it, I have no idea. Seems the Bear tracker will have smaller wheels and tires, but I cant say for sure. Seems I remember the Bear Tracker having 22's and the Kodiaks 25's. If you can get it cheap I say go for it, but it is no longer in production so parts might get hard to find in the future. btw...the price is $1850. Dealer will put in a new battery and do a full service on it before delivery. Also a warrenty...looking at KBB.com...that looked like the top end on value. But I do have a long history with this dealer and he is a large & long time dealer in Yamaha products.

No problem. You can probably talk the dealer down a few hundred on that cost. Say around 1600 cash. BearTrackers are fun to play around on, similar to the Honda Recon I play on now and then. the hole pattern on both are the same, 4 on 110. Im not sure about the offsets and diameters, and inside hole diameter. The dealer might be able to answer the question better.
All of the little quads are fun to drive, and the beartracker seems to be reliable and rugged.
