My starter was acting funny today, next thing you know i go to start it, and all i heard was a loud crunch. now there is a hole in the side case.!!! i was like 1/2 mile away from my truck. i push started it and it just dumped the oil right out. is this a known problem or a recall??? im pissed, polaris better cover this. i bought it 10/25/04.

 

I never heard of this before.

They should cover it, my pred was 3 months out of warranty when i had the arams replaced at no charge to me with no BS.

Lets us know what happens.

You still have a week on your warrenty. It should be covered.

 

my 03 pred cracked the right side case while i was riding in clark county last spring and my dealer got polaris to cover parts but not the labor. that housing isabout 250 bucks. labor was only 179 so it wasn't to bad. but polaris said they weren't gona cover nothing but my dealer pushed them and insisted it was a faulty casting (wich it was) and they finnally gave in. I'ld get it in A.S.A.P. so no extra time lapses. Good Luck to ya

 

so i dropped it off at the dealership. the starter gear broke off, hit the side cover broke a hole in that then bounced back and went through the block and into the crank case. so needless to say it needs a complete engine now. the best part is......polaris is paying for it. i had 4 days left on my factory warranty.

 

Polaris has redefined customer service with the Predator.....probably with their other lines too. When you figure how many different machines are shipped all over the world, there will be periodic burps, but it sure is nice when a company is there to say "excuse me" and then fixes the problem. not only is polaris being cool about it. my dealership ordered an '05 engine so i get reverse. they are not promising polaris wont notice and send an '04 though. i guess when me and 10 friends of mine buy 2-3 atvs, dirtbikes, street bikes each from them they start taking care of us.
