I was running a K&N filter for the sand and the do not seal they let sand and dirt in a bunch of sand got in and broke a ring and now my cylinder is all scored up and my piston is ruined I just got my motor built and it blew up after two dune trips

DO NOT BUY K&N

that's because you need an outerwear, precharger, or filterskin over top if you ride in sand.

yeah any time you ride in water or sand you a precharger. other than that the K&N filter is awesoom.

He said it doest seal right/good, that is why u put Grease around the bottom. Geez..

they dont just make filter oil to please senior citizens, the crap does work!

I do run a outerware and use grease I also oil it it is because when it is installed there is a gap between the filter and the airbox bottom

If there is a gap...I would not blame it on the K&N....you should never use a filter that has to be cobbed to get it to seal...

I'm sorry about blown engine...that's always discouraging....you really need to make sure that the boots and filter make a good tight seal.

FOR THE RECORDS GUYS, K&N FILTERS SUCK IN THE SAND AND WATER...NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU GREASE THEM AND PUT AND OUTWEAR ON THEM...BUT THEY KICK *** ON THE TRACK...YOU NEED A FOAM FILTER FOR SAND AND WATER, SO BREAK DOWN AND SPEND THE 30$ TO GET ONE TO SAVE A MOTOR REBUILD...CLASS DISMISSED..
