Need some advice!

Getting too old for my Warrior (had it for 17 years). I am going to buy either a Grizzly or a Rincon. I have never had a problrm with my Warrior, so feel that I should stick with Yamaha. Any thoughts/advice? Another thought........ do I even need the Grizzly, or is the Kodiac 450 a better choice? Price is not really a consideration when I only do this every 18 years or so.

 

What kind of riding do you do. If you're going to be getting into some more aggressive type terrain, I would go with either the Kodiak 450 or the Grizzly just for the fact that you have more options when it comes to traction. If price is no problem, get the Grizzly. The extra power gives you a lot more confidence in tougher situations.
I can't say anything good or bad about the Honda because I don't have any experience with it, but I have a lot of experience with the Grizzly and when I had the choice to buy any quad I wanted, there was no question about buying another Griz.

 

The locking differential and full disc brakes is enough for me to take either over the Rincon. I'd take a Rubicon over a Rincon actually. It doesn't do anything for me, and its kind of ugly on top of that.

Grizzly is faster, Kodiak probably slower than the Rincon. All 3 will do just about anything you want them too. If you can get a chance to ride any of them at all, I suggest you do it. If you know anyone that owns one that would let you test drive it, that would be the best idea. You may find that the one you like best is the one that the least people here tell you to get.

 

Hey; thanks for the reply. I will be riding mostly with small groups here in SW Utah. Yesterdays 42 mile ride was up to the tops of some pretty impressive bluffs. Pretty rugged at times with some steep stuff and lots of rock. Kinda hard with two wheel drive and a clutch.

I live in Cedar City, and have gone on a few rides with the group from Washington. They are a great group to go with, but you may just want to get the Honda if you go with them. Be sure to practice making that "bahhhh" sound though, LOL. The last ride I went on in Washington had 40 ATVs, with about 39 Hondas (and at least 20 Rincons).

But having had a Rincon, a Kodiak 450, and a Grizzly myself, I would recommend the Grizzly first, then the Kodiak, and the Rincon only as a last resort. Good luck, and have fun.

A buddy of mine got an 05 Rincon just before I got my Grizz. I had the chance to try out his quad before I made my decision and I have to say it was a great riding ute. It has a great feal to it, a nice balanced stance, low center of gravity, and a nice riding suspension. The engine was ok to good as far as power and pickup. On top of that, the electronics and the GPS are excellent.

I decided to get the Grizz because it was a Yamaha...and I've had good experiences with Yamaha motors and vehicles before. But moreso, the Grizz is a better all-around quad. It may not be as cushy as the rincon its with fancy electronics, but it does have more power, ground clearance, better braking, greater suspension travel, better transmision and the locking diff (which is huge if your stuck between a rock and a hard place). They are about the same size-wise with the Grizz having a slightly higher center of gravity.

Plus I got the Grizz for $1000 less than his Honda. (and 0% financing for one year through yamaha)

I had a 450 Kodiak and got the Grizz just because I wanted more power. The Kodiak is a very capable of going almost any where you point it but the Grizz does it with a roar[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] The kodiak has all the same fetures as the grizz just a smaller engine! Both are great Quads and I think you would be happy with either!

Hey Grizzlyfd after your year is up what does your intrest go up to?? I got my 04 for 3.9 % for to years then it goes up to 17.0 %

 

You know I really don't know. I already have it paid off. I think it was something ridiculous like 22 or 23%. I just needed a couple more months to scrape together enough $$ for the quad. I was actually going to wait till the spring to get it, but with 0% for a year and quad +snow = fun I had to get it before the winter.

Oh yea and if you still have a balance after a year, just transfer the remaining portion to a credit card with a 0%apr for balance transfers. There are plenty out there, and I'm sure you get tons of offers in the mail.
