Yoshimura for YFZ 450

I was just wondering if anyone else has a problem with there headpipe bottoming all the way out before it actually gets tight, and there is always an exhaust leak where header pipe goes in, mine is this way and i was just wondering if I have a lemon or what, and yes the gasket is in there, I have bought a couple new gaskets just to make sure that is not the problem!

THIS IS JUST AN IDEA.
I recently installed a yoshi on my Raptor so i somewhat know what you mean. Mine never bottomed out though, im assuming you mean that the plate is bottoming out on the boss thats on the end of the headpipe. Well you might try getting some spacers that go between the plate and the engine block, spacers that slip onto the studs that are there.
Just an idea, hope it helps, might not be what your looking for though.

that is a good idea, but would not work for the problem i am having, it would make it even loser, my mounting plate goes all the way to the motor, and it can not get any tighter. By making the head pipe stay out further, I would even have more of a leak!

Well I have called Yoshimura's technical & customer service departments, and left messages and I have went to there site and emailed these departments also, all of this done on Wednesday, So far no response from Yoshi, it is like they dont care of dont want to take care of there customers! OH well I guess. I guess they say that it is my problem not there's
so I am thinking about looking into a new exhaust system, is anyone running th fmf q2 series with a power bomb header. And what other exhausts do you guys reccomend that you can have good flow, and quiet it down from time to time!

I have yoshimira tri flow on my yfz and in the instructions it tells you not to use the gasket, the header flange was designed to specifically set against the head. But that is only if you have the full exhaust and not the slip on.

well I have a TRS Full System, however, I think that this would make my problem worse, I have to use two gaskets to make it get tight enough, and I do not think that I would be able to do it with no gaskets, because the plate bottoms out before it even gets tight against the gasket. Well anyways I have tried to ask yoshi and get through to them, but that is not working for me. I will keep trying and if nothing I will just junk this system and go with a different brand, I dont want to though it has awesome power, and I have had good luck in the past with them, I would just like some help from them, I understand if flaws happen or if I am doing something wrong. But to not be able to get a hold of someone to find out is irritating!

Just an Update- finally got a hold of A sales rep from Yoshi through email and he took on the problem, it turns out after he talked to there R&D department that when they first made the exhausts like mine, they were making them with an 18mm long flange, odviously they had problems with that not working right, so they started making them with a 21mm long flange. And to the good news, Yoshi is sending me out a new head pipe.
I had never heard anything about this though, anyways looks like they are going to take care of the problem!
