My foreman has 2200mi on it and it's time for some new tires.Just wondering if anyone knows how the Carlisle trail wolfs would be,I use my 450 for farm work so I need at least a 4ply tire, something that wears well.I have a 25 gallon sprayer on the back rack and do quite a bit of driveing on the road to get from field to field.I also do some trail rideing with my son.Im open for suggestions on other tires that you might think would be better than the trail wolfs. And what about front tire size, should I go with 25x8x12 or go with 25x10x12.also where is a good place thats cheap to buy tires on the internet. Thanks everyone.

I'd take a look at the Goodyear Mudrunners. I had them on my 450ES, and they worked great. Good ride on hardpack, but plenty of tread for mud and soft terrain. treadepot.com is the place to get them. Cheapest prices I've seen.

Farmking:
In regards to the tire sites on the internet, try www.treadpot.com, www.cawoodtire.com, and if you want something a little more "beefy", www.highlifter.com, www.rockymountainatv.com, and www.hi-per.com all have tons of tires available.

I'm not sure what came on your quad stock, but have you looked at the titan 489? They come stock on the AC lineup, and I believe some Polaris as well. It's a very good tire for all conditions. Granted, it won't go in the mud and deep stuff like a heavy lugged tire will, but for general all-around work and riding, they are great. Ride very smooth and have pretty good wear characteristics.

Working on a farm, you may also want to put some slime in the tires, just to be on the safe side. The original SLIME is fairly expensive, so I went with Cabela's Tire X-Tend, which is basically the same stuff. Sells for $19.99, which is four bottles of the stuff, enough to do one entire quad with all four tires. www.cabelas.com

Basically, it's cheap insurance no matter what or where you are riding. You never know when a sharp stick or rock could puncture your tire, no matter what ply rating you have.

Hope that helps.

Mike
