Default Hey 800 EFI owners!!! how they holding up?

Calling all 800 EFI owners!!!! I have been thinking about buying a 800 EFI and havent been able to find to much info on them. How are they holding up on the trails? Are they holding up to abuse? How is all the plastic holding up-supposedly its better than previous years? has anybody got them in the river yet? From test rides I can tell there is some great power there, but is still there after 1000 plus miles of abuse? What seems to be the commom parts that are breaking on them? Is this machine as bad as I think it is? Any other suggestions, pics, links or information would be appreciated
thanks
Keep on ridin!

Hundey

I got my SP800 in Nov. I have 980 miles on it......Not one problem. I have been in rivers, mud, & swamps! The only thing that isn't holding up too well is the tires, but I drive on a lot of paved roads, I suppose this is normal wear? My friend Jon has our videos in the Yamaha group if you would like to see them, I'm not good at that stuff. He goes by the name Grizzupinadams or something like that. This machine is tuff as nails!

800 is a great machine, though i agree about the tires theyre pretty soft and puncture pretty easy. makes for a god ride on and off road (as long as you got a tire repair kit). I ride pretty hard though. Suspension is great, alot more flexability than previous sportsmans. Almost rides like a sport bike with all the power and suspension. You can fishtail into turns really easy and gas it off ledges without the front end dropping. The extra padding on the seat in your knee area makes for a great riding machine. Floor board plastics stick out a little more than the rest of the bike so I got a couple cracks and have had to reconnect a few times. Small price for the amount of FUN one can have with 800 fuelinjected ccs.

Ive got a couple muddy pictures attached. oh yea! storage compartments leak and have had some problems with one of the low beams leaking. just another small price.

i had the same problem with low beam leaking. there is a little rubber plug above where your bulb twist in on the back of the low beam housing. mine had fell out. so i washed it out good with water and poured alcahol in it and sloshed it around good and let it dry over night. i plugged the hole up with silacone and i believe that solved the problem.

It is holding up pretty good. Plastic is awsome it is a huge inprovement over the previous years.. Have a manifold gasket gone but that is what warrenty is for..It is just a small thing, and it could go at anytime I guess on any bike.

Skid plates are working great... For thoses of you who read this all......

I put a piece of duct tape over that little hole and keeps the water out but now it seems like its over heating cause i keep blowing bulbs. Ive also replaced the stock bulbs with a brighter bulb from O'riely's. Dealer said he would take care of it, but I'm waiting for something a little more serious to go wrong before I take it in.

My SP 800 is holding up well, no really problems yet. A couple of weeks ago I was riding and it started to back fire, I went through all the wiring and check it over found nothing wrong. I had supected bad gas that I had bought at a self-serve gas station and beening premium that used by snowmobilers at this gas station and haven't had rideable snow in 2 months was the problem. Drained the fuel tank and put fresh gas in and haven't had a problem since.

Love mine. Only problem I have is shifting it into H and R when it is cold. It is very tight. I am told it gets better with miles and hours. I only have 11 hrs on it so I guess it will get better with more time. It is a little better than when I first rode it.

I have 180 ***** to the walls miles on mine and holding up great. The only issue so far is a blown belt at 100 miles and the lower rear hub bolt broke. I guess the 700 was made for the MX part of my last race. My dealer ordered my belt over a month ago, and I guess Polaris knows there is a issue. No belt has showed up yet, so hopefully there making a new one.
