There are 3 options I see.
ESR gauge (or similar inline gauge) ESR is high quality (ive seen hightowers, its nice) and is 80.

Install an electrical gauge (autometer/sunpro etc..can get them at local car part stores) unless you buy mounting cups, you will have to find a place in your dash to install it.

Install a mechanical gauge (same deal with the above ^^)

Mechanical gauges require you to put a probe in either the thermostat, or find a TEE to run in the coolant line (some kits on ebay sell the TEE with the gauge for about 80, but I would suggest the ESR for that kind of $$)

I am in the same boat, trying to install a coolant temp gauge, and an oil pressure gauge. I decided to go mechanical for the oil, and also have a mech. for the coolant, but might go with the ESR for ease of installation.

BTW, as a few others have found, autozone carries a triple gauge kit (1 1/2 inch sunpro gauges) for 30 bucks. (this is what I picked up)

DIDO

I also purchased the 1-1/2 inch sunpro 3 gauge set to use the Oil pressure gauge. The water temp and amp meter I am not going to use because I already have the ESR.
