Default New ATV or Fix up old

I have been thinking should I fix up my '87 Honda Fourtrax 250 which is in pretty bad shape. Or should I buy an 2000 Suzuki 300 King Quad 4*4 diff lock in mint condition the only thing it needs is a spark plug. This ATV already has ox lites, vampire tires and k&n air filter. This fourwheeler is only $1,500. and I can probably talk him down a bit.

So help me out new Quad or fix old.

You should fix your old one. Then pm me that guys phone number .
Considering age, parts availability, and the price of the kq300 then I'd get that and put the 87 on ebay.

Look in your trader guide. There are some really good deals. Go for the suzuki. Its 4wd and it has indepentant rear suspension.

I'm guessing since you live in the South, you do a lot of mud and rough trail crawling, that King Quad with 15 speed sub tranny ( 2 different low ranges ) and front diff lock will dang near crawl up the side of your house. For that money, sounds like a real deal, and you will be going a lot more places that 250 could never take you. It isn't the fastest quad on the trail, but rides good with the full independent suspension, and goes a long way on a tank of gas, so if you're mostly a crawler/rough trail / work kind of guy, it would be just right.Clean up that 87 and put it on ebay, you'd be surprised what some people would pay for it.

Thanks for the advice! I am going to talk to the guy today about the king quad and hopefully close the deal. I am going to fix up the Honda but I am going to keep it for my little brother.

By the way do you know where I can find some rims for the King Quad because the stock rims are simply ugly.

Try Rocky Mt. ATV, they have great rim/tire packages and carry rims and tires to fit most any ATV out there. Or, if you know your bolt pattern and offset, ( ask a dealer) you can go on ebay or other places and pick some up.
