I have been trying to make my throttle easier, not as easy as the flatslide carbs.
I have taken off my thumb spring, but the springs in the card are quite a bit more difficult. Has anyone lightened the springs up?
Can you buy light springs? Where?
Setting up quad for endurance race. Thanks for your help.

Many hardware stores carry a large variety of springs (ACE?) in various lengths. Don't make the mistake of cutting off a coil as that will only make it stiffer. I'm not sure what an endurance race is. Maybe like an enduro? Anyway, if it involves long periods on the gas, you might think seriously about a twist. Personally, I can't imagine riding for any length of time without one.

The springs for the 400EX carb are not linear like flatslide carbs. I've already tried that, some may work, but I am hoping for a better fit.

I read in an ATV mag that grinding a slight amount off the spring (not shortening it) will maake it weaker. I have never tried it though. Seems it would weaken the spring in that spot and make it break.
