reset "change oil" msg on 05 Foreman?
#1
I just finished my 2nd oil change, and 1st valve inspection. Anyone know how to reset the "change oil" dash message?
I remember seeing it somewhere in the service book, but I can't seem to find it...
Thanks in advance.

push and hold down both the odo/trip and hrs/time buttons for
several seconds (with key in on position) until
you see the 'oil change' mes' flash on display
and the interval will be reset.

Thanks.
I finally found it in the little owner's manual. Says hold trip/odo button down, then press Reset and hold for 2 seconds or until "change oil" msg goes away...
Servicing this thing was a bit more of a chore than I figured... Should be quicker and easier next time, though I don't think there is a way to change the filter without getting oil everywhere.

my neighbor bought a new 05 foreman GREEN with oxlite cv boot gaurds and a warn 2.5 winch about 2 or 3 weeks ago and he hasnt changed the oil yet! He thinks its fine the oil change light is on I doubt he sees it! He is so going to screw up his ATV! He also bought a new 05 Rancher4x4 ES with oxlite boot gaurds and also still no oil change!

Man, I did my first oil change early, about 9 hrs, because I knew I was going on a week long trip in the toyhauler and would be over the recommended 20 hrs when I got back...
I couldn't imagine not doing the 1st oil change on time (or early) on a new anything...
So far, I've only put on a Warn 2.5 (which was a pain, mount plate wasn't out yet when I bought), and new grips. I'll probably wait until the stock tires are shot to upgrade those, and haven't decided what extra protection to add...

my oil change light came on after the third or fourth ride.
i thought i broke something b/c i took on a bumpy, muddy, water covered trail.
but i checked the oil and it was perfect, so i reset the oil change light because in the manual it says that it is a timer to tell you when you need an oil change, not a sensor or anything like that.
keep ridin'!
