Default Help in getting my first ATV

I have been to many websites, forums, review sites, etc and I am getting so many conflicting messages. I have spent the last two weeks visiting dealers and I hear even more conflicting info (hard to take their word for it - they are trying to sell their stuff!).

Here are the things I am looking for in an ATV:

- reliability (I don't want to get stuck out on the trail - it's often a long way to civilization where I want to ride)
- comfort (I expect to do full day rides on the weekends)
- ability to carry two people (I will usually take one of my kids with me on the rides)
- fun factor! I make it sound like I am an accountant (OK, I am) but I do want to get aggressive with it sometimes.

I am considering the Honda 400 Canadian Trail Edition (I live in New Brunswick). I have heard that the lack of IRS is a problem if there are two riders, so that concerns me. I like the sitting position on the Honda better than most of the others (I liked the Yamaha 450 but it seemed small overall and the handle bars were in an odd position). Are there others I shouold try out?

I live in Fredericton.

BTW - I heard that there are a lot of good clubs out here. Does anyone know where I can get more info?

I'll check out the bike. Is there enough motor with the 360? My son is a big boy and the two of us would be about 290lbs. With my wife aboard (hope she does not read this!), we will top 340lbs. That's only 1cc/lb!

My wife and I combine for about 330 lbs and it zips us around great.

I'm originally from Longs Creek.

Lots of trails down here if you ever get the urge for different scenery.

I heard it's quite the social event (ATV'ing) and now I know it's true! I am sure that we will eventually get out that way. Keep in touch!

I also heard from two dealers (Honda, Suzuki) that the Kawasaki machines have more repair issues than the Honda or Yamaha models. Is that true (so far)?

Also, how does your machine handle? They are really good looking machines (better than the Hondas).

If you ask the Kawi dealer, they will say the same about the other brands.

My bike handles great.

My wife worked at the local Kawi dealer. They rarely have 360's come in for repair.

Yes, it's hard to believe anything the sales guys tell you when it comes to competing brands. I will check out the Kawi machines tonight. Thanks for the feedback.

No problem.
If you were closer you could take mine for a tear.

Good luck.
