Use the search feature and you'll find more information than you could dream of.....

The first thing you want to do with any quad to improve performance is a high flow filter, bigger main jet on the carb and an aftermarket pipe. If your not looking at engine mods then consider a set of nerf bars. Also, you say "cheap" - cheap is relative, so would help if we knew how much you had to spend.

redex may i suggest a 240 kit for the blaster project. i know trinity or the CT kit both make around 40hp at the wheels. i rode one from ct...wow raptor owners feel pretty salty gettin beat by a blaster. i almost did the same thing to mine but i had to have a 4stroke for the woods.

as far as 400ex mods slip on is sufficient unless u do major motor mods. i would suggest new carb intake full exhaust kit for starters. if u need more power get a cam and 440 kit.

Turtle - yeah, I'm leaning more that direction with it. Still hasn't gotten any further than you see in the pics. Need to finish sandblashing the frame and stuff so I can get it powder coated, then will start reassembling. This was originally going to be my wife's atv when finished, but she's informed me she doesn't want a manual shift. Thought about just getting it back together stock and selling it or trading it so I can get her an auto - but thinking I'll build it into something a little wild and keep it and get her an auto anyway. Of course I'm gonna be running out of room in my garage real quick!
