exuast rattle
#1
my 700efi has a bad exaust rattle where the pipe joins at the manifold. you can give it gas and watch the donut gasket spin. it dosent leak it just rattles. the only thing keeping it up there is 2 springs. does anyone have any suggestions for making it tighter so it doesnt rattle? anyone else having this problem? thanks!

Mine started to rattle as well, but it wasn't the donut, it was just the mount between the header pipe and the frame, at the front of the motor. The little rubber bushing started melting from day 1, and finally burned away to the point that it started to rattle. If you've smelled burning rubber while riding, that's probably what it is. I've heard of this happening on alot of the twins. I just took out what was left of the rubber bushing and replaced it with a steel one.

ya know, I had this really thick (a little over 1/8") bell-type washer that was exactly the right diameter with exactly the right size hole in the center. One of the few times I've actually found something useful in the hopeless pile of junk on my workbench. I think it may have come as some kind of adapter for a lawn mower blade.
