250r Axle Bearings
#1
I have an 86 TRX250R. Can anyone tell me how to get the rear axle bearings out of the carrier? I got the seals out but I cannot get the bearings out. It says in the manual that the tube spacer in between the bearings is suppose to move but mine doesn't. Any advice would be great.

I have always taken a long punch and a hammer and drove the bearings out from opposite sides.
In other words when the axle is removed. The long punch (with a blunt end, no point or chiesel) is inserted in one side then angled down or upwards toward the outside edge of the bearing. Then hit with the hammer. Rotate the punch so the bearing will exit in a square fashion. Don't continuously hit the bearing in the same spot, or it will get jammed in there crooked.
Another thing to try, in which a friend told me about was heating the bearing carrier. Not with a torch but in a oven or even a pot of boiling water. The carrier will expand faster than the bearings. So once heated the bearing s can be removed easier.

i used acentlyne gas and heated the bearings out and hit them out with an inch drive socket that was the size of the bearing then took the new bearings and put them in the freezer they dropped right in and when thawed out the fit in tight
