How many of you have or had a creeping problem and had to replace your primary clutch to fix it?

Turn the idle down.
It will creep and be hard to shift if the idle is turned up too high.

Wow, replacing the primary clutch seems extreme for a bit of creeping!

As stated above, wouldn't turning the idle down sort it out?

Failing that a rebuild of the clutch?

i had my idle checked on a machine by my mechanic and it was too high at one time, but they adjusted it and it still creeped, and it slowly got worse and worse. i have my old primary and it is awful, i needed a new one badly.

Dealer just replaced a buddies 800 clutch. They tried everything and it would not stop creeping. Replaced the clutch and all is back to new.

In most cases adjusting the idle does not fix the problem and the fix unfortunately is to replace the primary clutch. It comes down to a worn clutch assembly.
Until now nobody rebuilds these clutches so the only option is to buy a new assembly. I say until now because we are in the process of testing our rebuilt clutch, which we finished just a week ago. If the testing goes well and the clutch stands up to trail use we would consider producing rebuilds for sale. Is there a market for rebuilt clutches?</FONT>

depending the amount you are going to charge, then yes there is a market. for me being someone having to replace my primary, i would have much rather had it rebuilt as long as there was a warranty/guarantee with it. this is all my opinon though. pb500
