Default How to remove needle valve assy

I am trying to put a new needle and jet into my 2003 Warrior. The Clymer manual says remove the throttle level screw and lift the assembly out. However, this does not happen! Simply removing the crew does not free up the piston and needle valev assembly at all.

I feel I am missing something obvious here and would appreciate any pointers.

Chris.

What model bike are we dealing with? I assume this is a manual slide carb and not a vacuum carb?

Default How to remove needle valve assy

The quad is a 2004 Warrior and it is the needle valve assembly in the carb that I am having problems removing. It is the non Californian spec machine that has the throttle cable entering the side of the carb and not through the top like some earlier models.

I want to remove the needle such that I can chnage it but the life of me I can not get the thing out of the carb.

All help appreciate.

Chris.

Yes - that is the carb. but I cant manage to remove the needle valve assembly (item 4 on the diagram).

The Clymer manual says to remove the screw on the throttle arm and then lift it all out - but this does not happen.

I can't be the first person to try to change the needle.
