I cant deceide between a new z400 or a wolverine. I will ride with a mix between the sport bikes and utility bikes. I like the z400 because its a fun bike to ride but I like the ideal or the wolverine. I also like the wolverine because it has a rack and I can use it for hunting even though my truck can get me just about anywhere I need to go on my lease. Any opinions would be great. thanks

 

I like the Wolverine concept, and wish all the manufacturers would get the hint. Most people don't need a large, heavy "farm work tractor" utility, but could occasionally use 4wd. The one thing negative I have heard about it is that the front differential is OPEN, and not really "limited slip". I never bought a Wolverine, because I already had a stable of pure sport bikes, so getting a hybrid didn't make a lot of sense. If I only had one bike, the Wolverine might be more attractive.

The Z is a peach though! You need to decide if it will do the job.

 

What is the top speed on the wolverine? Im about 6'4" 240 and I feel reasonably comfortable on the z400, is the yamaha any smaller? Sorry for the questions but I havent seen one in person.

 

Also what is the power and speed difference as compared to the big bear 400 and the arctic cat 400 4x4?

 

I think the wolvy tops around 58 or so ... as for power, it may feel a little more peppy than the big bear and AC machines due to it's lighter weight.

 

What is the comparison to the rancher 350?
