I finally got the chance to drag a 450R one on one. It came down to who had the best start. Now for a quad that is supposed to be the fastest around I wasnt too impressed since my mildly modded sport 400 could keep up. This guy had been talking trash on my Polaris for awhile now so I was happy to put the issue to rest. I figure if I gear up I will be able to win every time so I ordered a new sprocket and told him we would run again in a couple weeks.

 

your 400 should hang or beat the 450r for quite some time. the 450r can have a ridiculious top end depending on tire size and sprocket size.

I think it would be hard to touch one ontop.

what sprocket did you order? and from who?

 

I ordered 2 different ones. A 13 tooth and a 14 tooth for the front from sprocketspecialists.com

 

If you are racing 300 feet I don't think I would gear up, maybe gear down. It made a world of difference when I gear down the Pred.

 

In 300 ft who cares about the top end unless you are hitting that top end inside the 300 ft. It is about how fast you accelerate not how fast you can go with a mile straight-away. Besides take me on the trails no one that I ride with can keep up on the trails, I ride with shee's 400ex's, raptor's, and predators.
