Wanting to trade my 05 700efi for an 05 800efi.Should i do it?the 8 seems superior in alot of ways and instead of modding my 700 wht not get the 800.What is your take on this as should i bother or???All my Buds ride 800s and with my mods im still left behind.What to do?Any input to help with this decision would be appreciated!Thx!!

 

first off which mods have you got on your 700? your gonna lose alot of cash on the trade in, you'd be better off selling the 700 out right then buying the 800 but with the difference in money why not just install a clutch kit, hot seat performance kit, K&N air filter etc. to get some extra HP out of the 700.

 

i've read that the 8 gets very poor MPG compared to that of the 700EFI.

i just sold my '05 700EFI (red DE Jr) and am debating weather to get an 800 or wait for the exciting new 500EFI rumored for '06.

if all you are after is POWER, then MPG is a mood point i guess.

i agree with SilverB. don't waste the $ on mods for the 700 because there will be NO resale value whatsoever. consider the upgrade to an 8.

My local dealer gave me a price of $7680 on a new 800EFI, but only offered $4500 for a trade on a '04 700 carb with low miles.

You'd be better off selling outright but the 800 is going to devalue the 700 a bit.

I'd be curious to know what you all are getting when selling your 700's.
