Default H1 650 LE? Who has one/should I.....?

I was looking at AC new H1 and it is a sweet ride!! I have it on hold and might buy one this week and would like to know the good and bad regarding this atv!! Is the LE suppose to have a winch already on the atv? The one I looked at does not have a winch on it and it is the LE model. Should I get the H1 or would the V2 be a better choice? Thanks ....!!!!

Depends what you plan to do with it/ how you are going to ride.

All things equal, I would rather have a twin cylinder engine than a single any day of the week, but things may not be equal here, I dont know. Some people around the forum here seem to like to idea of one large cylinder rather than a pair working together to give a power stroke twice as often.

The LE should come with alum rims, bumpers and a winch - it is certainly worth some premium over the standard... how much... well, everyone will have to decide that for themselves. The polished rims look cool, but over time it will be interesting to see what they look like.

This all said, if you like the ride and the price, go for it. You are presumably buying this primarily for yourself to ride.... I was going to go for the 400 LE last fall, but decide the regular AC 500 was better (and the LE had not come in yet, and I didnt want to wait more).

good luck!

Ride both first, that will help in your decision. If you're going to work it at all , the H1 is the way to go. Its' low range is geared way lower than the V2 and the clutching is better suited to heavy work, pulling or big tires. The V2 has a ton of aftermarket goodies that will make it fly. You have to get the clutch set up on it before anything else to avoid belt problems. I would personally go with the H1, but each to his own.

I have both, a 04 650 Twin-V and just bought the new 05 H1. As many have stated here, the Twin V has quick power even in low gear; it just responds quicker. The H1, in low gear, seems to lag, as if really working hard to pick up speed. But, as it has been told to you, the H1 has extreme torque in low gear. In high gear, the H1 takes off well. I was able to reach 57 mph and able to keep up well with the Twin V, though the Twin V has been modified and has explosive take off power. I am looking into upgrade performance parts for my H1. If any one knows of such parts, please feel free to advise.

Hello again...I agree with ATVCowboy. I did not push my new H1 to it's full max when I reached 57mph, so I know it can go faster. My Twin V goes faster for it has been modified. The first time I rode it, several ATV'ers stopped me to examine and ask questions about the H1.....that was the only time the H1 stopped..

I hate to sound like a party pooper, but why do you guys want to go that fast?

I have had my '05 AC 500 up to around 52 mph (briefly) and I dont think it is really all that fun to go that fast... and to me it is a good way for a broken neck if you have a tire pop at that speed or something else happens on a short wheelbase machine with low pressure tires...
