WHAT IS A GOOD OIL TO RUN IN MY 02 SPORTSMAN 500 HO ?????? ALSO WHAT ABOUT OIL FILTERS????

 

I say pay the extra buck and use what polaris has been running for years, the polaris 0w-40, as far as oil filters, I run the Emgo brand, it has done me just fine, but other run POLARIS,K&N, and some others. PB500

 

and Mixing Oil, some ppl say amsoil, is that everyones opinion or can I be unique and use the Motul or royal purple or is that totally unquestionable and i should only use Amsoil?

 

by mixing oil you mean changing brands not mixing half and half right? i run amsoil in all of my machines even the lawn mower.

I've been using Mobil 1 and haven't had any problems until this weekend. Wanted to change the oil and usually just buy it at WalMart. Had to go to 4 places (Walmart and auto parts stores) before I found it. Guess it's time to change brands.

 

Mobil 1 or Amsoil are both good choices. Just stay with a 0W-40 synthetic. For a filter, you can get a NAPA Gold filter #1358 (Wix filter) for around $8.

 

yes by mixing oil i mean injection oil because obviously the bike mixes it 4 you.

 

side by side the Polaris filter and the Wix look identical so they most likely put their name on a Wix filter. I get them at a local chain store for around $5.75. You can get the Amsoil Formula 4-Stroke Oil 0W-40 for $5.30/qt. if you know someone with a preferred customer membership or buy one yourself for $10/6 months. Good luck.
