WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 1986 TRX 250R AND 1986 ATC 250R? OBVIOUSLY ONE HAS 3 WHEELS AND ONE HAS 4. IS THE REAR END THE SAME? CAN I USE TRX 250R ENGINE PARTS ON THE ATC? WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

The engines are swap-able as they are the same. 1985 ATC carbs were different. I think the axle and carriers are the same.

You should have asked this in the 3 wheeler lounge, more people know there.

 

The wiring harness is different. All rear end parts from the 86-87 TRX are the same as the 86 ATC. The 85 used smaller carrier and thus a different swingarm. You can swap a complete swingarm and axle from 86-87 TRX 250 to the 85 ATC if you swap everything from the swingarm pivot back.

 

so from the swing arm back they are the same would the exhaust be the same? if i was looking for an exhuast and it said for TRX would that fit the ATC?

 

the expansion chamber and silencer are different, but the silencer of a trx can be made to fit the ATC expansion chamber.

 

i was looking through the rocket moutain catalog and i couldn't find any exhuast for the ATC they all were for the TRX unless i was passing them and didn't notice

where can i get front wheels and tires for it, me and my friends where woundering this. that the wedsite made it alot easier to find stuf jst for the ATC its a PITA looking through the 700 age catalog
