wider track on 2002 kodiak

wider track on 2002 kodiak
i have heard that the track on the 2002 kodiak can be widened a couple of inches by adding spacers of some kind to the wheels. anyone know anything about this? I also thought of changing tires to some with a wider and flatter footprint. would appreciate any suggestions.
