grizzly hates water

Default grizzly hates water

has anyone found issues with crossing water and engine sputters is it moisture in belt snorkle or is it steam getting in the air box seem quite common with yamaha

they are a bit too rich from the factory so when steam enters the airbox it reduces the air/gas mixture even more and causes sputtering, so i've deduced from other posts and such

I plan on getting a jet kit, I hear it solves the problem



mine does it too, sucks when you need the power and it just sputters and snaps

i guess that i'm pretty fortunate, i've never had that problem with mine and i 've gone through some ppretty deep water crossings. just for kicks.....do you guys switch to diff lock just before the water. because if you do, check to make sure that it's fully engaged before you attempt to go. (the light should be solid, not blinking) otherwise it will spit and spudder until it engages. forgive me if i insulted your intelligents[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Take a small amount of petrolum jelly and put it in the end of the spark plug cap. It should seal the plug so water won't get up in there. Don't know if this will help but it's worth a try. Yamaha also has a grease for this purpose.

I guss i'm lucky to had my grizz in water up to the seat and never had any problems[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
