Default Could we be seeing an EFI Raptor soon????

CHeck this out. Yamaha has a new dual sport bike thats powered by the good ol 660 engine, call the xt660x. same specs as the 660, but it is fuel injected instead of carbed. I wonder if we might see a 660 efi raptor. I think rappy sales have dropped since the yfz, and EFI might give it a boost. just thinkin out loud here.

or you could just drop $1400 on on your current raptor and upgrade to EFI.

The efi head is a 4 valve if I remember correctly and its been on that bike for at least a year I believe, but I havent heard of anyone trying a head/fuel system swap. There are talks of a 700 EFI raptor which IMO is just a farce, but I would think an EFI upgrade would be plausible for both the raptor and grizzly. Just dont count on it too soon.

i'll give you my predictions for the 06 or 07 raptors, all the mods are from the xtz engine but anyways

EFI from the xtz bike
4 valved head from the xtz
roler rockers from the xtz
aluminum sleeved cylinder from xtz
possible 700cc
42rwhp stock
fully adjustable shocks

700cc and EFI are being considered for the new Raptor, if one or both of those upgrades are made, it won't matter squat unless they either lower the CG and or widen the bike up a bit for more stability....

The Phantom.....want's you to tell your mom to stop calling me....it's called a one night stand for a reason.....

Thats fine, saying yammi will pirate the xtz powerplant. But I still dont see where you can get 40 more reliable cc's out of the engine.

why, would you think a 40cc bump is unreliable. they bore raptors well in to the 820cc range and the ds into the 840cc range, now they might be considered unreliable.
