Hey whats up? I am here asking you guys this for a friend of mine. He has a 04 kfx700 and it definetly has a loud whining noise when in gear, not in neutral. Is this normal? and if not any suggestions? He just changed his belt but it was doing it before that aswell. thanks everyone!!

 

Yes its normal. Its just Kawi CVT whine like crazy. My Brute whines so loud its not even funny but with HMF u cant hear it.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

If it whines in gear without moving then the belt is probaly too tight. A very slight little squel in gear is okay but if its a loud whine that is not. If it whines while driving it, well that may be normal cause they are kinda noisy but it does have a limit.
