Default Cosmetic repairs?

I have an '04 TB250. It has the blue plastic with the yellow/black decals. My problem is that the first time I washed it, I used dishsoap and a sponge to clean it. Apparently that was not a very good idea. Well, now the finish is really dull, and it has fine scratch marks all over it. I went to PEP boys this weekend and bought turtle wax (blue colored) at the suggestion of the clerk. I put two coats on, and it helped shine the finish a bit, but didn't do much for the scratches. I was just wondering if anyone has dealt with this problem, or has any suggestions. I realize that 99% of waxes are meant for automobiles, but I figured it might be worth a shot if anyone has used one on their quads. Normally, I could care less about the appearance of the TB as long as it rides well. But I am hoping to trade it in at the end of the season to upgrade to a Scrambler 500, and the appearance of it will affect the trade in value. My only other option would be probably to replace the plastic after the season ends. Let me know. Thanks.

Default Cosmetic repairs?

In rochester NY, quad season is from about March to October/November due to the fact that November to March is absolutley miserable. The sun shines from about 11am to 4pm, there is about 5 feet of snow on the ground, and the temperature ranges from -10 to 5 degrees farenheit. Therefore, I will not be doing any riding during the "off" season. And I know that it is a quad, and to expect scratches, my concern is rubbing as much out as I can for the resale value, not the appearance for myself. Personally I could give a crap about whether or not the quad is even clean. And I wish I could upgrade to a Scrambler in the summer, but I have a wedding and a new house that requires a little more finances then a new quad.
