Urgent Help!! I got what appears to be oil in my airbox 2004.05 Sportsman 500 H.O

Hey guys.
I have never seen this before and am kind of worried.
MY sportsman only has 208 miles on in.
Today i decided to take it apart to wash and when i went to see if the airfilter was ok I noticed about 1-1.5 inches of oil on the bottom of the airbox. I did notice that there appears to be a drain tube underneath it right above the rear tire but didn't touch anything.
Is this something I should be worried about? should I take it to the dealer?
I did check all my fluids and everything is full.
It appears to be a greenish color fluid in the airbox but really does smell like oil.
what should I do please help.
Thanks
Eddie

Did you roll it? The crankcase breather connects to the airbox and if you over fill it, Roll it, oil will leak into the airbox. Check your filter and make sure it's not oil soaked. If it is change it drain the oil from the air box and check the oil level.

Ok sounds good.
Yes I did roll it but never saw oil when I rollled it but will drain it. the airfilter looks good and no oil in it. but just incase where can i get a K&N air filter for a atv?

Your oil level is probobly too high, excess crankcase oil is vented to the air box, just don't fill it up to the top, and you'll be o.k. By the way the paper filter and its pre-filter are no good if they are wet with oil.

hey yah i had the same prob with oil in the air box and rolled it to many of times .
when i asked polaris about it they told me that the valves had to be adjusted.
did that and no more probs hope it helps you on your way?

Another question....Did you stand it up on it's grab bar?
My Predator leaks into the airbox when it is up on it's grab bar because of the cc vent hose placement.
That ruins the air filter.
The green in the liquid is of more concern to me....maybe you have a leaking head gasket or water pump gasket, allowing coolant to enter the crankcase. What does your cc oil look like on the dipstick when you check the oil level?

I think I got it.
I empty the oil and haven't had a problem since except for my cheap *** air filter I put in. Just waiting for the K&N air filter and precharge to arrive should be here tomorrow.
then hopefully we are all set.

ekazmer,
I don't want to needlessly worry you...
But, the greenish oilish liquid got into your airbox, probably as a result of the rollover. So, you cleaned that out, ordered a new air filter, and since you have not rolled it again, no further problem exists. (???)
HOWEVER, my concern is...WHERE DID THE GREEN COME FROM? That is coolant color. That sounds like a leaking gasket. I would definitely keep a close eye on the color of my crankcase oil, as well as my coolant level, were I you. Check color on your dipstick. Or do you run some weird oil that is a green color?

I took the liquid I found and the a bit of oil from my engine to my local auto shop where they analyze fuel, oil, coolants etc.
it turns out it is just regular oil.
it looked green cause the airbox is white but after putting it into a clear container they are both the same color and just to be sure i went a purchased polaris oil and it is the same color
so I am kind of lucky I guess but do you suggest I still take it to the deadler to be looked at?
