i'm a younger guy and i want a connondale so bad because a lot of my buddies have raptors and ds 650's and they brag about how fast they are and i just want to smoke them. however i live with my dad and he really doesnt want me to get aa quad like that. anyway i just need to show him that it is a cannondale is really a safe and reliable quad because he said if i can prove this he will buy me one. so any cannondale owners or anyone that knows something about them please tell me that it is a safe and reliable. thanks!!

 

Your young so I'd stay away from a Dale. Get a Z400. Not as fast, but alot less headache..

 

What does safe mean? Airbags?
If you take the effort and time to do all the factory and R&D updates they can be a great reliable quad. If you just ignore all the issues and dont do basic maintainence that all extreme race quads require you will have nothing but problems.
Since maintenence facilities are few and very far between plan on doing most work yourself.

 

thanks for the input. i can do a lot of work on quads and dales by myself that wont be a problem but what i mean by safe is...is it more likely to brake down or have something on it broken when i am riding to cause me to crash or is it more likely to flip because that is what my dad is worried about. im 17 and i dont know why he is babying me but i have to follow his rules because this is his house im living in so i have no other choice.
so ur saying that it is a good quad and it is safe and reliable as long as i keep up with it and i have everything looked at and possibly changed if there is something wrong. thanks a lot of the input i appreciate it and its helping out.

 

I see. I believe the moto suspension is one of the most forgiving and confidence inspiring system ever to come on a factory quad. Its 50 inches wide with nearly a foot of travel. The other models have suspension similar to your basic 400ex ,yfz quads.

You'll want a motor w/ the z400 big end bearing. If it has this it will more then likely have all the other critcal problems fixed as well and more then likely will be a 450cc not a 432cc. Now if that's the case you can go out have fun w/ a reliable quad that will outhandle and outrun 99.9% of all machines...

yea the cannon's safty is more about the rider as far as fixing it, it breaks jsut as much as everywuad does with normal wear and tear but its jsut harder to fix the body and suspension work is all the same u watch out for the efi its hard to get that fixed alot of shops for rid of their computers. if you want to get a z400 wait a little while and get the z450 or keep the 400 in good condition and trade it in when it comes out
