I don't think anyone has seen the official results of the race, but I don't think a DS won this year. So people are ranting and raving about the possibility that a honda won it this year. But just as a reminder. The DS650 did win the Baja 2000, which is one of the most grueling races. The Dakar in Africa, the 2004 Baja 1000 AND 500 and plus another race last year. No other ATV mfg. can say they make the Baja King of ATVs. Bombardier sure holds that honor.

 

Thats funny! Honda and Yamaha were winning Baja races before Bomb was even making quads. To call the DS Baja king is just wrong. I believe the Bomb supported DS650 got 8th place this weekend. Pretty sure 1st and 2nd were YFZ450s and 3rd place was a TRX450.

 

I have to agree with Eric on this one, while recently the DS has done well, over the years championships were won on all different kinds of ATV's and one would guess that many titles were captured on 250r's, 450r's, 400ex and even a 650 utility.

It's good that BRP gives the kind of support they do in these races, but it comes down to the skill of the riders, the skill and preperation of the team, and most importantly, good old fashioned luck, because anything can happen.

Bomb, isn't necessarily the king, but they are a player in an ever more difficult and diverse game.

Sorry guys....i just had to do something to see how many people would get fired up. It was just a lil joking thing. Even though the ds has set the fastest overall speed, the race has had many many winners before its time. At this time, however, the DS is the most dominant force in Baja racing.

Race was won by a 450R.

First DS was 7th.

hey guys, the ds ba, kicks as# we all know it or we wouldnt own one!!! ive owned a lot of the others, but lets face it this bike is a great bike , i really to old to be racing around, plus it takes a long time to heal hahahah, i build harleys, there a great bike to but what the hell , ive put harley motors in 4 wheelers for fun thats a *** kicker ive raced harleys up mountain trail in the 70s, ive drag raced harleys, it all comes down to what you like! i have 2 ds 05 and 01 there great bikes at least im not working on them all the time, like i did with the harleys, i like to ride the trails, and run the sand dunes in dumount, lifes to short to see who won the race, its more fun knowing my bike still out runs most! and young girlies still turn there heads!!!! hoooooooooya
