AFTER MY QUAD WAS STOLEN A FEW WEEKS AGO..AND WE GOT IT BACK....IT NEEDSS SOO MUCH WORK...SO WHAT ME AND MY POPS ARE THINKING OF DOING IS REBUILDING IT FROM THE GROUND UP...IT NEEDS SO MUCH WORK.....MOSTLY ALL FACIAL THOUGH..FROM NEW POWDER COATING..TO LITTLE ODDS AND ENDS LIKE BACK BRAKE LEVER...PROB A CUPPLE GRAND TO GET IT RUNNING.. THE THING IT IS IT IS AROUND AN 86 OR 87 IT HAS THE OLD J ARM..IS IT WORTH PUTTING HTE MONEY IN A HAVING IT REBUILT..OR SHOULD I JUST LEAVE IT AS IT AND JUST USE IT AS A THRASH BIKE....AND ANOTHER QUESTION..FOR ANY OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN TO OCOTILLO WELLS....I WENT UP BLOW SAND WITH IT, BUT IT WAS A NO GO, GOT UP BOUT HALF WAY AND DID NOT WANT TO GO ANYMORE....TOP END GOING? NEED SOME INPUT

its up to you if you want to go through all the work of rebuilding it maybe you could sell it for parts and buy a newer one or you could spend some money and upgrade to a arms and have it updated if its more then 2,500 or so i would sell it and buy a new one

I put all new bearings, bushings, rear axel, tires, air filter kit, new plastic, brake pads, and had the a/j arms, swing arm, and off set wheels [+1 inch wider] powdercoated gloss black on my 87 and spent around $1100 total for parts. I paid $800 for the banshee, and the motor was rebuilt 2 months before I bought it, and it had toomeys on it. So for roughly $1900, I think I have a better deal than someone who spends $6000 for a new banshee. In answer to your question, if the frame is not bent, or tweaked, hell yes rebuild it. The money you save by rebuilding [ instead of buying new ] can go on another project later on [old Quadracer, 250r or even a raptor]. Now if you are rich, just give me the banshee, and you go buy a new one.

always cheaper to rebuild (well almost)
Just remember you will never get out of it what you put into it.
Something to think about if you ever decide to sell.
Also, the first rear of the Banshee was 87, and the last year of the J-arm was 90
