GRIZZLY or SP700
#1
I know its a long way away but Im thinkin about it anyway and I thought I would ask everybodies opinion.
In the Spring I will be gettin another quad. My fiance has taken quite a liking to the atv sport and shes really good at it so Im gonna either give her my modded up SP500 or get rid of it and get her a Kodaik 450. In the process of doing all this I will be gettin a new ride also. I have been riding my buddies quads and love them both. An 04 SP700 and an 04 GRIZZ 660. I cant decide between the two. They are both fast, powerful and great handling. I know the GRIZZ has the front diff lock but I have bever been anywhere on either one that I cant get out of on the other. The both have great tranny's, great 4wd set up, look good, have more than enough ground clearance, power, speed.............. Right now I think I will just buy which ever one I can get the better deal on. What do you think?

If its no preference to you that's one way you can go.
The Sportsman has essentially a locker too when the true AWD 4x4 kicks in, its like having the fronts locked.
The Yamaha needs to be below a certain speed and moving to lock in, so if your stuck it wont help locking it in, you need to think ahead. Also I hear the Griz is tippy, I know my buddies 600 Griz is but that’s a diff. machine and you should know if you drove them both.
You will develop a liking for one over the other I would think.
I say sportsman especially if you get EFI.

I know this is gonna sound crazy, but I dont want the EFI, I like the moddability of carburation. My buddy's grizz is a little tippy but I think that has a lot to do with the junk stock tires that are on it. The sidewalls seam VERY weak. So far the differences that I have noticed is I can ride the GRIZZ for hours and its like driving a cadillac. The sportsman on the other hand, I ride it for 45 minutes and my fore arms are sore. But they are both very fun rides. The sportsman has more top end power, but the grizzly has more bottom end. I can get all the mods i want for either one so this is a very hard desicion. I just dont know what to do

If you consider the EFI700, I would get that over the griz. If it is the carb 700, it would probably be a toss up but still leaning toward the 700SP. Either way, both are very good.

I bought a new 660 grizzly in may of this year after 200 miles I traded to the polaris 700 EFI..im not trashing anybodys ride but
I GOTTA BE HONEST WITH YOU....the grizzly was a $7,000.00 atv with a .25 cent front suspension roughest damn thing I ever rode in
rocky or rough terrain....my pick is the polaris..

Funny you should say that. useaully its the other way around, people saying the sportsman is the cadillac and smoothest.
