My friend and I are going to our closest Honda dealership tomorrow because he's seriously looking into a 450R. He's just turned eighteen. Are they likely to let him test ride one, especially if he mentions he's serious about purchasing? I've heard you're lucky to test ride a new sport quad anymore these days, especially something with the ***** of a 450R.

I doubt it. It seems like we younger people get hassled at the motor cycle shop. I know when I go there they ignore me. They tend to have bad attitudes towards younger people around where Im from.

 

Yeah, no different here. I've already noticed that. 18 is the age at which most places usually say you can test-drive though, right?

Good Luck. I have purchased from 3 different dealerships and never got to test ride anything. Even sitting on the Chesapeake Bay, you cannot test ride a waverunner. The manufacturers occasionally have a day where you can go out and test ride but the dates are few and far between.

I did get to test ride a Cannondale though at Rausch Creek, PA. Again, it was a manufacturer sponsored event. I was getting ready to go with a 2nd year production Speed when they went belly up. I learned my lesson with the 1st year Rappy. The new EFI Rappy might be a winner but then again, I can wait. Curious why Yammy doesn't fix the one-way bearing issue. You would think they would buy LA Gears design.

Every bike shop around here makes us Pre-approve before a test ride. That way if it gets crashed, it could be afforded.

 

I've seen dealers that don't let people test ride no matter how old they are cause there insurence won't cover it if they reck
