Default Hot cam or web cam for 04 Raptor ?

I em ready to add little power to my raptor. Thinking about camshaft, I em incline to purchase the stage 1 hot cam, but maybe web cams are better. What is your take on this ? Did anyone try both of them ? THX

How do they suck? The specs indicate more lift & duration than a stock cam. The problem with the stage 2 cam (for those who want to make the swap as simple as possible) is that they require changing the valve springs & retainers. Just wanted to know WHY you think the stage one "sucks". Give us some reasons, as I'm thinking of putting in one of those myself.

Stage 1 is not much of an improvement over stock, Stage 2 is more noticeable.

I just took out my stage 1 and put the stock cam back in. I guess with the mods I have the stock cam just worked better for some reason.

IMO, the stage 1 hot cam makes a nice improvement in low end and mid range and the stage 2 hot cam takes a little from low end and ads top end. I wasted money on the stage 1 initially as well....I like the stage 2 better. The core charge with the web cams no doubt hurt sales. With that edelbrock carb I would not go over a stage 1 or equivelent cam though....it's not gonna move enough air for a big top end gain anyway. My $.02.

Dual K&N air filters w/ my bracket, modded stock carbs w/ GYT-R jet kit, matched the intake to the head and a Yoshi pipe.
With the stage 1 I could not get rid of a low end bog, it wasn't bad but annoying. With the stock cam at the dunes with paddles (no traction problems) on level ground I could cruise 3rd gear in the lower to mid RPM range and pull the front end up at will with only the throttle, no clutching, leaning back or tugging on the bars just give it gas. I couldn't do that after putting in the stage 1 cam and I didn't feel I gained any top end either in fact I may have lost a little. I also spent quite a bit of time jetting each set up.
That's what my experience was but like I said it doesn't seem to be the norm.

I didn't notice that you have the Edelbrock till Gary mentioned it.
I think you'll see a lot more gains from cleaning the intake manifold up then you would from a cam. That intake is the the worst I've seen and has lots of room for improvement. Check out my photo page. They were supose to come out with an improved filter adapter too but I don't know if they did or if you got it, but that wasn't designed to well either. IMO
