no lid on rappy?

running no lid on the air box, good, bad? why is it good, why is it bad? or is there really no difference, or should i just stop being a penny pincher and get a power lid and other stuff. Oh... and also i heard k&n wasent the best for the dunes because dust and whatnot goes right thru it... is that true? and if so what is a better filter, and does the power lid do more hurt at the dunes or no? thank you all for your replies and help..

I have a power lid and I ride in really dusty and water/mud conditions. I have not had any problems. I check my filter before every ride and make sure its full of oil. I run a uni filter under the power lid. No problems so far. I'm real happy! I had to put the power lid on when I put on my dual exhaust. It was pricey, like 89.00 bucks.

I run a L&A Airbox Eliminator with K&N plus outerwears, run in water, dust, mud and sand, never a problem, clean them, oil them and buy some fat jets
