-4x4 can go alot of places
-can use them for working
-winch
-good in winter
cons
-very heavy
-most are slow
-more $$
sportros
-fast
-good for jumping (most of them)
-light
-more fun the utility
cons
-no 4x4 when you need it
-can't work with them
-allways needs work done on them (i find)
-not the best in the snow

If you are trying to make a choice, get a 'tweener like a Kawasaki Prairie, Suzuki KingQuad, Suzuki Vinson, Yamaha Grizzly, Honda Rincon, etc. These are called sport-utilites for a reason. No, you won't keep up with modded Banshees, Raptors, DS650s, KFX700s or the new 450s, but heck, just about everything else you can. And when the going gets rough, you'll excel.
